Perinatal Consortium
The Perinatal Consortium is comprised of community-based groups in Lenowisco, Cumberland Plateau, Mount Rogers, Alleghany/Roanoke City, New River, West Piedmont Health Districts. Our goal is to better coordinate and support national, state and local efforts on behalf of mothers, infants and their families. The perinatal consortium collaborates with numerous community organizations and coalitions to promote perinatal health throughout the region.
What members contribute:
- Collaboration with other perinatal health professionals, advocates and consumers.
- Identification of ways to implement solutions to perinatal problems and community needs.
- Creation of a network of information exchange and resource development for perinatal health.
- Improvement of services to women, infants and their families.
What members gain:
- Access to information and resources on perinatal health.
- Statistical data.
- Satisfaction in working on local projects to improve perinatal health in local communities and in the region.
- Networking with other individuals who are involved in improving perinatal healthcare.
